Elegant and luxurious, this 40-acre Caribbean resort in the British West Indies celebrates Kelly Wearstler’s interior design acumen. As a leader in the firm, Darlene led design execution during her tenure in the studio and while on location in Anguilla.
The resort rests amidst tranquil cliffs surrounded by inlets and coves. Framed vistas encourage guests to linger and enjoy the magnificent Caribbean horizon and turquoise waters. Located on 3,200 feet of beachfront, the resort features a combination of hotel rooms, private villas and residences. The five world-class restaurants each have their own distinct décor delivering unique dining destinations.
The modern architectural forms come to life through thoughtful material selections thus enhancing the architect’s design. Neutral natural tones complement the 5-star resort while dramatic marble and onyx stone walls intrigue guests in the celebrated feature areas. Bold book-matched stone and geometric stone patterning are iconic to the property. Wood ceilings provide a pleasant warmth and add fascination to the space with their thought-provoking patterns and textures.
The Interior’s team selected furniture and finishes specifically to enhance each location within the resort. Design compositions included mixed metals, inlaid stones, gesso wire brushed wood, and natural-colored luxurious linens. Custom-made furniture selections and accessories give every space a luxurious residential feel.
The spa was designed while Darlene was living on the property. Direction from ownership required the transformation of two blufftop townhomes into this special amenity. Darlene strategized quickly while the project was under construction to reduce project costs and meet a rigorous construction schedule. The townhomes’ envelope remained, while the programming and planning shifted to accommodate lounge spaces and spa treatment rooms. This unique piece of property along the blufftop made for a facility unlike any other in the Caribbean, drawing a series of significant hospitality accolades.
Complementing the resort’s beauty are the talented hospitality staff and culinary experts who worked closely with Darlene to further customize the property. Their combined efforts allowed them to meet their goals and deliver an unforgettable guest experience. The resort now holds the Four Season’s flag, creating a new sense of place, but one where the strong design vision and architectural bones remain.
